Monday, January 25th. This morning there, we get up with a small excitement in the stomach: if the weather allows it, we are going to make the big jump … A free-fall of 12000 feet (that is 3650 m of height). When one alarm clock, there are quite a lot of clouds, but we do not lose hope. We tidy up all our affairs which we put back in the car, before leaving for the i-site. In fact, in one of the numerous documents which we have, we found a reduction of 30 NZD on the free-fall of the company which we chose. We would thus like to find there the second. But finally, we had taken the document at the airport, they do not have it here. Too bad, it's better than nothing. We phone to the company to be sure that the free-fall will well take place. Fortunately the weather got free, we can go there! On the road, we begin to put under stress…

Once arrived, we are taken care at once and we place us in front of a small film for the rudimentary explanations. OK, we do not much have to make. Except for the position to be adopted at first, we just have to smile for the camera! Having signed the contract (among others that we run a risk of dying if there is a problem with the equipment), we thread combinations and a kind of belt, and we get acquainted of the person who is going to film us. Before leaving, she asks us for a small interview for the DVD! Then, we are taken care by our "bodyguard", the one who will be hung on on us during the flight and who will open the parachute. OK, for Anaïs as Nadège, it looks cool ^^. And it left! We rise in the small plane. We are quite squeezed in there. The plane rises then little by little in the air to reach 3650m. During the route, each of our "co-pilots" asks us how's that goes and describes us the landscape. The pressure begins to rise, especially for Anaïs who has to jump the first one!

Just before opening the door, we thread a hat, gloves and glasses. We are very beautiful like that ^^. That's it: the door is opened, Anaïs is hung on well against the lad, and the fear is there! A young to smile to the camera before the big jump … The lad takes a run-up of front behind and hup, he jumps and Anaïs left. Waouh, Nadège tries to follow them by eyes, but they decrease too fast … It is not reassuring all this. But it is its tour maintaining, not the time to think, the lad takes front. Small smile not very reassured for the DVD; and hup, suddenly it is the space. Well, which sensation that makes …  It is magic, indescribable, and what is impressive, it is that we have no impression to get closer to the earth. The view above the lake Wanaka is incredible, we want that that never stops. Nevertheless, at the end of about forty seconds, the lad opens the parachute and the free-fall is ended. We can remove our glasses to admire at most this view. The lad makes some tours in the air with the parachute before going to settle on the ground. And here we are, we are already of return to earth. But the head is still in the air. It is an experience which will remain unforgettable. We return to the office of the agency, we remove our combinations and we are going to look at videos taken. What a head we have!! But that makes us a great memory.

It is the time to leave, the direction Queenstown. To go there, we do not take the main road because it makes a big bend and it is not very interesting. We prefer to take a smaller, but much more attractive road. Well, it is just that it is less evident to drive, it is more mountainous! We roll a moment and then at the top of the rise, we arise to eat but also to rest the car which made big efforts. That does not smell very good … The view from here is magnificent: we perceive far off the lake Waikatipu where is among others Queenstown. From here we do not see very well, but the alc has a very particular shape, very lengthened. After the picnic, we leave. The car appreciates more, it is not more than of the descent! We join the main road for some minutes, then we resume a small road to make a small bend by a historic city, Arrowtown. There were gold-diggers in a time here. Certain houses look like at home of the Wild West! It is a very nice, but not very big city! There is only a main street. We make a small tour by post and we walk along the stores of the street, with among others the factory of jade jewels, the memories and a paradise of candies! Needs to indulge itself from time to time ^^. We leave then for Queenstown. 8500 inhabitants, it is a big city, there is a lot of traffic there! We try to find a free parking lot where to park, but it is not evident. We make one can all the tour of the city before settling finally on a parking lot in the city center, for 30 minutes maximum. We take advantage of it to go to the i-site to take information. But we do not make more because we have to find another parking space, where we can stay longer. Finally, we find a parking lot without duration limited by car park. It is paying naturally, but not too expensively. We are going to walk little in the streets of the city, by looking where we could make internet. We find a cheap, we shall just return to it right now. We go then to the pedestrian, very nice street. At the moment they are the sales in New-Zealand, and we would indeed need a new swimsuit … A store in the air not bad, why not to make it a small tour! Finally, we stay there not far from one hour … But we made bargains! A new swimsuit each in a moderate price! We are going to settle then in the grass one moment near the port. There is a nice atmosphere here, as we like them with a lot of sat people, who discuss, rest … We redo then a small jump in the car to move it once again! Then we take the computer with us, to work a little bit above. We are going to eat then in Mac Donald’s. Not very original but very practical! It is just next to the internet center, thus as soon as we stopped eating, we are going to settle on internet for small moment. When we return to the car it is already 11pm and now it is necessary to find a place where settle for night. Because yes, that will be a new night in the car! We go out a few of the city by following the lake. We perceive a parking lot with already several cars and winnowing baskets. We join them for night! No film this evening before falling asleep, it is already good late.
