2 days of travel

Saturday, December 19th. It is the departure of Peru... After last quiet day in Cusco to visit the cathedral and to go to the souvenir shops, it is the moment to say goodbye in Peru. On Saturday, our plane is at 12:30 am for Lima (arrival at 1:30 pm). Then the plane for Buenos Aires will be the next day at 1:30 am. We are supposed to have our afternoon in Lima, what looks of time to visit some districts of the city. The problem is that once arrived to the airport, at the same time as we register our luggage, we learn that our plane will be late. The departure is planned at 3 pm. A little disgusted, we make a small tour of the airport which is not very big... Finally we sit and we look at a film about our computer. At the end of moment they let us know that the plane will leave at 16 o’clock... Ok, the sky is rather covered with sometimes flashes of lighting, but there are many other planes which take off... Finally, we enplane at about 3:45 pm and the plane is doing in fact only a correspondence in Cusco. We arrive in Lima at about 5 pm. We see that the weather is bad which and we know that it’s not easy to find a bus. Moreover the city is far from the airport, so we say to ourselves that that is not worth going there. We saunter in the airport between internet, small hot chocolate, film and souvenir shops. With the air conditioning too strong, we are still cold... We go to eat a good small plate of pasta then it is the hour to leave.

Above all, it is necessary to pay the tax of the airport, which is not given and which it is necessary paid in cash. It’s not very practical when we got rid of our last ones soles before leaving... So we have to remove from some money just for that. That's it, we left for 4 hours of plane. With the 2 hours of jetlag between Peru and Argentina, it makes us arrive at 5:30 am in Buenos Aires. This night there, we do not sleep a lot.... We arrive in Buenos Aires tired well. From there, we take directly a taxi for the terminal of bus, where we will take a bus for Puerto Iguaçu. After approximately 30 minutes of route, we arrive there finally. We hope we can find a bus for that day because we did not reserve, so it is not guaranteed. We ask for little to all the companies and fortunately, there is one to whom there are some places for a bus at 7:30 pm. It's a pity, there is not before, we have to wait still during 10 hours... Have a good laugh to wait!! As a result, we sit down somewhere to look at a film, and then finally, we decide to put our bags in a big locker and to leave on foot to visit the district near the terminal, Ritero. It is nice, there is a park, big places. On the other hand, from this first time out to Buenos Aires, we notice that it is a city rather dirty. A lot of wastes on the ground and bin liners lag on the pavement. We look then for a restaurant for the lunch. In the end, we eat in the shopping mall of the pedestrian street. Then, we walk little in the pedestrian street and we look for a café which has the WiFi. We put of time before finding one, and in the end we stop in Starbuck Café. We pass there quite some time, then we leave to saunter in streets.

After that, we decide to settle in a park to spend time and rest a little, because the night in the plane was not very good … In the end, we return to the terminal of bus. Our bus is planned at 7:30 pm, but indeed on the others leave all at the hour except our. We leave for Puerto Iguaçu with almost one hour of delay. And it left for 18 hours of bus. It is long … Fortunately, buses for the long distances are fitted out for, that is seats are wider, more comfortable and we can tilt them. During the route, they put some films and we have the diner in the bus, then the breakfast in a kind of cafeteria of the company. And at 2:30 pm Monday, December 21st, we arrive finally at Puerto Iguaçu.
